The Best Internship Ever

Synapse internships are paid full-time roles. Start and end dates are flexible to align with academic schedules, but you’ll be expected to commit at least three months of full-time work. We are dedicated to providing you a valuable learning experience and an opportunity to be part of our team and culture. Electrical Engineering Internships

EE interns would benefit by having the following skills:

  • Exposure to embedded system design, e.g. ultra-low power systems, mixed signal systems (Analog, Digital, RF), microcontroller based systems
  • Some experience prototyping circuits, e.g. breadboard assembly, soldering surface mount components, etc.
  • Experience with PCB design (or CAD, PADS, Allegra, etc.) a bonus
  • Great attitutude, carnivorous need to learn ++ Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and mind-blowing thoroughness
  • Digital, analog, and mixed signal circuits
  • 8 to 32 bit microcontrollers
  • Displays and indicators

Mechanical Engineering Internships

ME interns would benefit by having the following skills:

  • Knowledge of what a Dremel is and adept use thereof
  • Hands on experience building or fixing physical things
  • Basic CAD skills in either ProE or SolidWorks - advanced skills a bonus
  • Exposure or background with basic manufacturing processess and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Experience with Stamping, Laser or Water Cutting, Machining, Injection Molding, Painting
  • Great attitutude, carnivorous need to learn
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and mind-blowing thoroughness

Software Engineering Internships

SW interns would benefit by having the following skills:

  • Fluency in C and/or C++
  • Experience with at least one microcontroller, e.g. 8051, TI MSP430, Atmel AVR, ARM M3, Microchip PIC
  • Ability to read, understand and program to manufacturer’s datasheets
  • Exposure to RTOS’s
  • Experience with concurrent programming
  • Great attitutude, carnivorous need to learn
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and mind-blowing thoroughness
