Andrew leads the consumer and health business efforts at Synapse Product Development, where he collaborates with clients and engineering teams to ensure Synapse meets our clients’ overall objectives and provides senior support to program teams. This involves guiding strategy, multidisciplinary programs, and business development for Synapse’s core business and new growth areas. He brings a strong understanding of hardware and software development, manufacturing, operations, and business strategy, with 15+ years experience managing multidisciplinary teams and leading technology research, product development, and commercialization within several markets, including consumer electronics, medical devices, connected health applications and intelligent transportation systems. In close collaboration with world-leading brands and ambitious startups (Google, L’Oréal, HaptX, and Newell Brands included), Andrew has led global product development efforts across multiple continents, including Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America; and has traveled extensively supporting partnerships, sourcing vendors, and setting up supply chains.
What excites Andrew is the creative collaborative process of understanding customer needs and helping solve complex cross-discipline problems through technology and business innovation to shape the direction of new products, experiences, and services. Working closely with startups, MNC innovation groups, venture arms, and product development teams, including investors, design firms, manufacturing partners, and key stakeholders across the value chain, he helps solve complex engineering, business, technology, and design problems to achieve rapid return on investment.
Andrew holds both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University, and an MBA from University of Washington. He has patents within aerospace and consumer markets.
