Colin Isler
Colin joined Synapse in 2018, bringing with him 13 years of experience in professional audio electronics design and manufacturing. As a Senior Electrical Engineering Tech Lead he has the opportunity to work directly with clients to develop creative solutions to problems. He’s most excited about how electronics can positively impact everyday life, or at least help us all have a little more fun.
Colin previously worked with Rane Corporation and InMusic Brands, Inc. where he played an active role in every step of the development process. Whether gathering requirements with potential customers, or advising production lines at factories in Asia, Colin strives to create products that help real people get things done. From 2016 to early 2018, Colin led the electrical and firmware development of the Rane Seventy-Two professional DJ battle mixer, a mixer that is already used on tour and in scratch competitions by some of the most talented turntablists in the world. Colin also contributed to the design and production planning for the MP2015 DJ mixer as well as several networked audio distribution systems, high-efficiency switching power supplies, and touchscreen remote controls.
Colin holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Go Blue! He has been a member of the Audio Engineering Society since 2005 and is currently a committee member of the Pacific Northwest AES section. When he isn’t at work, Colin can be found on the hiking trail with his family, in a kayak on Puget Sound, or in his home recording studio.
