
Rolando Pausal
Rolando is a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer seasoned by 10 years of product development experience with various fortune 500 companies. He is well versed in designing mechanical parts and assemblies for high volume consumer and fitness electronic devices, and has in-depth knowledge in design for manufacturability, statistical tolerance analysis, and finite element analysis. Rolando has hands-on experience in working with vendors to diagnose and resolve production problems.
At Synapse, Rolando is known for his technical expertise in designing parts for injection molding, sheet metal, vacuum forming, and high pressure sealing, as well as in standard engineering CAD packages including Pro/Engineer and SolidWorks. He is a master of developing robust parametric CAD models utilizing top down design technique and freeform class A surfacing.
Rolando started his career as an intern for a Singaporean Shipyard company that granted him a college scholarship. With this scholarship, Rolando attended Cebu Institute of Technology where he received his BS in Mechanical Engineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
For his first full time engineering job, he worked on research and development of self-checkout machines for retail store automations. He then moved to Shenzhen, China, and worked for a watch design and manufacturing company, then on design and manufacturing of PC hardware peripherals and video game consoles, which earned him an award of recognition for developing innovative and user-centered mechanical design solutions that address engineering challenges.
When Rolando isn’t working, he enjoys hiking in the beautiful Washington outdoors.
