Synapse hosted the Seattle Hardware Workshop for the third consecutive year. The workshop, a 2-day event taught by experienced operators, covered a variety of topics from defining a product to picking the right suppliers to successfully launching a hardware company. For more information on the event check out the Hardware Workshop Website.

Synapse’s very own Kate and Bret taught 70 hardware entrepreneurs about prototyping, with emphasis on reducing risk and testing & validation. They outlined important strategies for successful prototyping; including planning, building the right prototype, scheduling, and the feedback loop. To demonstrate the application of their strategies, Bret and Kate walked through 3 synapse project case studies, including the 49ers Stadium Entry, the Philips Sonicare Airfloss, and the Nike+ Sportwatch GPS.
