Andrew Reading

Senior Software Engineer

Seattle

Andrew brings a diverse technical background to Synapse, where he currently works on cryptographic algorithms and data security for embedded devices. Products he has worked on include intelligent IoT in-home monitors and consumer fitness trackers, personal assistants with voice recognition capabilities, UAV flight control algorithms for the DoD, satellite navigation and tracking firmware, and robust through-the-earth communication systems for coal mines and various public safety groups around the world. Technologies he developed or worked on are currently present in products deployed to today’s special forces, helping them save lives.

Andrew received his Masters of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington, where he studied high performance computing and spectral analysis. He received his BS in Mathematics from Arizona State University, where he studied numerical analysis. His past research involves low power digital radio design for medium frequency FM signals, and the parallelization of hyperbolic PDE solvers.
