Kate has been with Synapse since 2006 and has developed battery operated connected systems across many applications including health and wellness, industrial systems, and sustainability. She focuses on product development strategy and how to design products better. Kate’s areas of expertise include flexible and high density PCB design, novel electromechanical integration and product construction, low power microcontrollers and radios, sensor integration, and batteries. She has extensive experience in design for manufacturing, contract manufacturer ramp up, and production test development.

Kate received her BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Olin College, where she was in the first graduating class. Attending a brand new school was in many ways like working for a startup company and it sparked Kate’s interest in fast paced product development and led her to Synapse.
